Visit of the sites analyzed by TETRATECH for the installation of the battery energy storage system (BESS). This is the mission that was carried out from April 11 to 17 by the Technical Cell of the Compact Regional Energy Program Formulation Committee (CFPCR-MCC).

The analysis by TETRATECH allowed for the identification of potential sites for the installation of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems). These primarily include the Riviera, Yopougon 2, Korhogo, Ouangolo, Bia sud, and Vridi/Aggreko substations. The report of this important mission has been prepared to present the conclusions from the site visits to Riviera 2, Bia sud, Vridi/Aggréko, Yopougon 2, and Korhogo considered by TETRATECH for the installation of battery energy storage systems. It presents the objectives of the mission, the agenda and participants, a description of the initial environment of the sites, including recommendations, and the gender and social inclusion aspects observed among the CIE (Compagnie Ivoirienne de l’Electricité) staff encountered at the 5 electrical substations.

This report also presents an initial assessment of the human, biophysical, and operational environment of the Riviera 2, Bia Sud, Vridi / Aggréko, Yopougon 2, and Korhogo sites planned by TETRATECH for the installation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The mission participants were made up of several organizations. At the CFPCR-MCC, Mr. KOBOU Yapi Daniel, Electric Sector Infrastructure Expert; Mr. TANY AGOVY Arnaud, Environmental and Social Performance Expert; and Ms. BAKAYOKO Véronique, Gender and Social Inclusion Expert. At CI-ENERGIES, Mr. SYLLA Mohamed Salim and Mr. SORO Jérôme, both Engineers in their organization. Finally, at CIE, the visit was conducted with the on-duty staff of each electrical station.
