CFPCR-MCC: THE TECHNICAL CELL PRESENTS THE KEYS TO THE NEW PREMISES, TO THE ACTORS

It is now a done deal! The CFPCR-MCC has officially received the keys to its new premises, located at Riviera 4, Synacaci 1, Terre d’Afrique city.

These keys were presented to stakeholders in the Energy sector, namely the DGE, ANARE-CI, CI-energies, CIE, and CME, the promoters of renewable energies, by the steering committee made up of three major bodies.

This event was attended by Mr. Chevalier Jacques, Technical Advisor, representing the Minister of Mines, Petroleum, and Energy on this occasion.

It should be noted that this presentation of the CFPCR headquarters occurs at a time when an important mission from the MCC and Tetra Tech Engineering Consultancy is staying in Côte d’Ivoire from November 6 to 17 to evaluate the effectiveness of each identified project and align on the nature and typology of the selected projects in agreement with the Ivorian side.

Indeed, Côte d’Ivoire has been eligible to receive a grant of three hundred (300) million USD, approximately 187 billion FCFA, to implement a regional Energy compact with the Millennium Challenge Corporation.

The Ivorian government, through an inter-ministerial committee composed of the Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Energy; the Ministry of Economy and Finance; the Ministry of Budget and the State Portfolio, has established national program coordination for the identification and formulation of projects in the Energy sector.

Thus, in its session on September 28, 2023, the council of ministers officially recognized the legal existence of this institution now known by the acronym CFPCR-MCC, the Program Formulation Committee for the Regional Energy Compact, by decree Number 2023-763 establishing its creation, powers, and functioning.

It should be noted that the members of the bodies include, among others, the steering committee made up of the three aforementioned ministries, the Technical Working Group which consists of the representatives of the ministers; the technical cell, an operational body with 12 experts and a coordinator, responsible for the implementation of policies and decisions.
