MCC Energy Panel : COTE D’IVOIRE REPRESENTED AT A HIGH LEVEL

MCC Energy Panel : COTE D’IVOIRE REPRESENTED AT A HIGH LEVEL
Non classé

On the sidelines of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assemblies, Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of Mines, Petroleum and Energy, Mr Mamadou Sangafowa COULIBALY, took part in a high-level panel discussion organized by the Millennium Challenge Corporation and their partners PROSPER AFRICA and POWER AFRICA on the theme of “Empowering energy solutions in West Africa”.

The aim of this panel discussion was to demonstrate how leveraging regional investments and partnerships can generate significant and sustainable improvements in electricity access and affordability for millions of people.

The panel took place at the WESTIN New York Hotel in Times Square, New York City, and was attended by a number of leading figures, including Mr ABDOULAYE Bio Tchane, Benin’s Minister of Planning and Development, Ms Alice Albright, Managing Director of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), and Mr NISHA Biswal, Deputy Managing Director of the US Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

In addition to this list of distinguished speakers, Mr. ABDULKADIR Nazif, Deputy Secretary General of WAPP, Mr. British ROBINSON, General Coordinator of Prosper Africa , Mr. RICHARD Nelson, Coordinator of Power Africa , Ms. YVONNE Ike, Managing Director and Head of Sub-Saharan Africa for Bank of America .

It should be noted that the presence of Minister Mamadou Sangafowa corroborates the importance of partnerships in the sustainable improvement of energy efficiency in our African countries, and the approval of the Côte d’Ivoire and Zambia Regional Energy Compact by the MCC Board of Directors on September 18, 2024 is a perfect illustration of this.
